How SSA Supports the Mandate
From Regulatory Strategy to Implementation.
Our role is to turn the proposed business or transaction into the applications, documents, structures and operating arrangements required to move it forward.
The precise workstream is tailored to the product, licence category, ownership structure and stage of the business. Where a mandate also requires cross-border, technology, transactional or continuing compliance support, those elements are integrated into the engagement.
AML/CFT/CPF, KYC & Financial Crime
We develop risk-based AML/CFT/CPF frameworks covering customer risk classification, CDD and EDD, sanctions and screening, transaction monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting, record keeping and escalation. The controls are mapped to the entity's products, customers, delivery channels and transaction flows.
Licence Conditions & Compliance Frameworks
SSA reviews the conditions and continuing obligations attached to the relevant regulated status and builds the policies and procedures needed to support them. This can include KYC, complaints, safeguarding, outsourcing, cybersecurity, risk management, collections, customer protection and product-specific compliance.
Regulatory Reporting & Governance
We help establish reporting calendars, responsibility matrices, board and committee oversight, management escalation and the records supporting regulatory returns. Governance arrangements are reviewed so that compliance ownership is clear and material regulatory decisions are appropriately documented.
Regulatory Correspondence & Inspections
We draft and review responses to observations, clarification requests, notices and information demands, coordinate the supporting record and ensure that the response is consistent with the entity's actual regulatory position. We also support readiness for inspections, audits and regulator meetings.
Outsourcing, Technology & Third Parties
We advise on regulated outsourcing to technology providers, cloud infrastructure, KYC vendors, payment processors, collection agencies and other service providers. Contracts, oversight, data, security, audit rights, responsibility allocation and any approval or notification requirement are considered as part of the compliance framework.
Remediation, Product Change & Ongoing Advice
Where a gap is identified, we assess its scope, prepare the corrective-action plan and align the documentary and operational remediation. We also review new products, changes to pricing, customer journeys, ownership, management, technology or transaction flows before implementation to identify required approvals, notifications or policy changes.
